Consumer Dispute Services
Dispute Resolution Services
Have a dispute you need resolved with a neighbor, store, or
other 3rd party? Our attorneys offer mediation services to resolve
your legal dispute without the hassle and cost of going to court.
Mediation is voluntary by each party. Our lawyers will even
contact the other party to see if they are intersted. Best of
all, the parties split the cost of the mediation services.
Dispute with Business or Creditor?
Our attorneys offer a 20-minute no charge consultation to see
if we can take on your case. Many civil cases can be taken on
for no fee up front if attorneys fees are mandatory for the
type of legal dispute or if the attorney can take on the case
on a contingency basis. Oftentimes consumers may think their
dispute is trivial - such as creditor harassment, or a defective
product, however, many times our attorneys are able to pursue
a just result for the consumer. Please call to make an appointment
to see if your case can be pursued. Examples of types of consumer
disputes are:
| • Home Improvement Disputes |
| • Car/Vehicle Disputes & vehicle repossession
|
| • Non-disclosure of Financing Terms |
| • Product Defects |
| • Creditor Harassment |
| • Mortgage Reporting Errors |
| • Deceptive Sales/Advertising Practices |
The list above is only a sampling. Please call to make an appointment
to review your consumer situation. Bring all documentation with
you regarding your issue. Be open to questions from the attorney
that may not seem related to your issue of concern as sometimes
the attorney can spot an issue that is legally prohibited but
may not be the issue you are disputing.
Free Legal and Consumer Information
Horizons Law Group has a retail area dedicated to free brochures on many legal topics and consumer issues. Many of these are provided by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at no charge FREE! This is very consumer-friendly information that our federal government has put together (many in full-color) for consumer use and informational purposes. Also see our Self-Representation page.
Legal Library / Legal Reference Area
Our library contains Wisconsin case law (WI Supreme Court and WI Court of Appeals) and all state statutes (laws). Consumer use of the library/resource area is FREE. Consumers can also use our attorney reference binders complete with information, directions, and forms used by most attorneys at NO CHARGE. Copies of any information is only a small fee.
Take-a-Lawyer-to-Lunch™
Also too good to pass up! For the price of a lunch, you can have an hour of a lawyer's time. This is a great way to get to know a lawyer before hiring him/her for your sensitive legal matter.
